The New Lenox Community Park District received the prestigious Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended April 30, 2022. This is the 15th year that the Park District’s Business Services Department has received the Award of Financial Reporting Achievement.
Kim Auchstetter, Finance Director/Treasurer for the Village of New Lenox presented the award to Director of Business Services Kathy Lynch, and the Deputy Director of Business Services Karen Acklin at the Park District Board Meeting.
“The receipt of this award reflects on the Business Services Department’s continued dedication and success in leading the New Lenox Community Park District to be good stewards of tax payor dollars.” New Lenox Community Park District Executive Director Greg Lewis said.
The report is judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. This award is affirmation of the financial responsibility that the New Lenox Community Park District continuously strives towards.
