The New Lenox Community Park District is thrilled to announce the installation of a new We-Go-Swing at Leigh Creek Park, a groundbreaking addition that reflects our commitment to creating an inclusive and accessible playground environment for all families.
The We-Go-Swing is a dynamic, innovative play feature designed to accommodate children of all abilities. Its unique design allows for multiple users to swing together in a seated, secure position, promoting both social interaction and physical engagement. This inclusive equipment ensures that every child can experience the joy of swinging, regardless of their physical abilities.
The installation of the We-Go-Swing has been made possible through the generous support of our donors, Cheers Not Tears and the Lincolnway Special Recreation Association (LWSRA). Their contributions have been instrumental in bringing this vision to life, and we extend our deepest gratitude for their commitment to enhancing recreational opportunities for all.
We also extend our deepest gratitude to Advocates for Acceptance for their tireless dedication to making parks and recreational areas more inclusive for all. Their advocacy and efforts have paved the way for increased accessibility and acceptance within our community.
The New Lenox Community Park District remains dedicated to fostering an environment where everyone feels welcome and included. The We-Go-Swing is a testament to our ongoing efforts to enhance accessibility and promote inclusivity within our public spaces.
“Today marks a milestone for Leigh Creek South Park and the New Lenox Community Park District,” Said Executive Director, Greg Lewis. “The We-Go-Swing is a symbol of our commitment to inclusivity and our belief that every child deserves the opportunity to play, interact, and experience the joy of a well-designed playground. We are incredibly grateful for the support of Cheers Not Tears, the Lincolnway Special Recreation Association (LWSRA), and Advocates for Acceptance, whose collaboration has made this possible.”
