Month long celebration highlights the inclusive and essential programs provided for all!
This July, join the New Lenox Community Park District (NLCPD) for Park and Recreation Month, as we celebrate the ways parks and recreation foster a sense of belonging in our community. A variety of events are planned for all residents, including Splish Splash Splunch, The Great Ball Pursuit, Yoga in the Park, Grandparent & Me Fishing Day and the grand opening of Hibernia Park Phase II.
The NLCPD marks Park and Recreation Month, a campaign by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), which encourages the community to share their experiences of belonging through parks and recreation. With numerous park sites and activities such as golf, bus trips, special events, children’s classes and summer camps, there are many chances to build relationships with neighbors and ensure that every New Lenox resident feels part of the community.
The NRPA and the NLCPD encourage everyone who supports parks and recreation to show how it has strengthened their bonds within the community on social media. Throughout the month, the NLCPD will use the hashtag #WhereYouBelong on social media to highlight the many safe and memorable ways to engage with the Park District this summer.
