NLCPD Receives Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting

Deputy Director of Business Services and Director of Business Services receive the award from Kim Auchstetter

The New Lenox Community Park District was honored with the prestigious Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for their comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended April 2024. This marks the 16th consecutive year that the Park District’s Business Services Department has been recognized with the award.

Kim Auchstetter, Finance Director/Treasurer of the Village of New Lenox, presented the award to Director of Business Services Kathy Lynch and Deputy Director of Business Services Jason Braglia at the Park District Board Meeting.

The report is judged by an unbiased panel to ensure it meets the program’s rigorous standards, which involves a demonstrating a “spirit of full disclosure” to effectively convey its financial narrative and encourage readership among potential users and user groups.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. Achieving this Certificate signifies a remarkable accomplishment for both a government and its management. It serves as validation of the ongoing dedication of the New Lenox Community Park District towards financial responsibility.
